Oyate Concern Inc. is an organization working to serve the Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in south-west South Dakota. Oyate Concern is committed to the Christian Community Development Association’s 3-R strategy. The three “R’s” stand for relocation, redistribution, and reconciliation. Relocation involves living in the community and sharing in the problems and solutions to those problems as a neighbor. Redistribution works to build resources back into the community, and to empower those in the community. The third principle is reconciliation. This involves realizing that God has given us the ministry of reconciling men to Himself. Our ultimate goal is to raise up indigenous Christian leadership and to empower the community to a stronger, healthier lifestyle spiritually, physically, emotionally.
